We had a wonderful time at our American Girl Book Club.  We learned about all the things that were so normal in Samantha's life and so different from our own.  We made delightful paper dolls and enjoyed ice cream cones.  Did you know that ice cream cones were invented for the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904

If you missed the fun you may come and pick up a copy of our Samantha Paper Doll in the library.  Hope to see you all at our January meeting.

We're having an "Indian Summer"

Beautiful Mount Timpanogos

An Indian summer refers to a period of above normal temperatures, usually after there has been a killing frost. It most often occurs between late September and mid November.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Students at Platform 9 3/4

Instead of Spooky Night in the Library we had our own Evening at Hogwarts. Nearly 100 students qualified to attend by reading one of the Harry Potter books. It was fun and the kids were so excited. We sorted the students into houses with a real sorting hat. They dined on chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and hot cheddar scones. They ate chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, edible wands, pumpkin pasties and butter beer. We even had a visit from a real owl, thanks to the Nature Center. I was exhausted but it was worth it.

None of it would have been possible without the help of some great teachers. You are the "best"

Tomorrow is the last day to get tickets for our Evening at Hogwarts.  Don't miss out... see Miss Merriweather in the Library

During an early morning response to a house fire,
firefighters witnessed the unbelievable...
A mother dog risked her life to save her puppies from the fire
surrounding the burning house.

The mother dog, Amanda, raced back and forth between the
house, putting her 10 day old puppies in the safest place she
could find - a firetruck!

She didn't stop racing back into the fire until all of her puppies were
safe.  The firemen could not believe their eyes.

What a great MOM!
